Where? All summer practices are held outside the Natatorium, on the west side (hospital side) of the building, weather permitting. In the fall and spring, all practices are held in 1065 Natatorium, which requires a UW student ID to enter.

What do I wear? Typical practice attire is very informal. Usual clothing is loose fitting pants (without zippers for Longfist is best) and a t-shirt. Also, shoes are worn during practice. Ideal shoes are low-cut shoes with thin soles (indoor soccer shoes work well). If practice is indoors, please do NOT wear your street shoes in the practice room.

Before I come to practice? While it is less important for Taijiquan, staying very hydrated during the day and eating a carbohydrate-rich meat roughly 2 hours before practicing is most beneficial. Participants should need little or no water during the practice itself if the body is sufficiently hydrated.
